My name is Jeanette. I am from the Philippines and have been based in Tokyo, Japan, since 2022. I love traveling and hiking, and one of my dreams is to summit all the 日本百名山 (Japan’s 100 famous mountains). It’s a long shot, I know, but hey…a girl can dream.

If you’re ever wondering why I named my pages In Words and Frames, it’s really for obvious reasons of me shooting pictures and videos (the frames) and either captioning them, writing about them, or doing voiceovers (the words).

I can still remember the feeling I got when I hiked Mt. Capistrano, my mother mountain in Bukidnon, Philippines, back in 2017(ish). That feeling of reaching the top, watching as the sky turned from dark to purple to orange as the sun rose, stayed with me. Now, with my partner, who is also my cameraman, we celebrate every milestone on the mountaintops. Anniversary? Hike. Birthday? Hike. Long weekend? Hike. Get engaged? In the middle of a hike under the pouring rain. 

The mountains mean so much to me, and I am here to share with you my journey.
